Notes & Combos

✨ MD ID: 091-690-479 ✨ Couple replays up now!

  • Game 1: Lose coin flip, go 2nd vs Spright and break board.
  • Game 2: Win coin flip against literally the worst goign 2nd matchup ever... PSY FRAME??? IN MASTER 2??? But I wanted to show this game off as it was a very neat matchup.

🦑 💧 Pure Gishki 💦 🐙 All Going 1st Gas ⛽️ ✅

This deck is decent. I had a relatively easy time reaching Master 1 with it for the sole reason that it wins going 1st ~80% of the time. However, it loses going 2nd quite frequently. I've played around with the ratios ALOT and still have a tough time knowing if this is the best "pure" build but I'll put some deck think notes below. Attempting to focus on the going 2nd power immediately makes it inconsistent for going 1st and I've found relying on the coinflip to just be more reliable. This way if you grind enough you will eventually reach higher ranks.

The goal of this deck is essentially to deep draw and hand loop your opponent, then set up 1 monster negate. The Moray cards help you get to either your protection pieces for hand traps (Called By / Ash) or your combo pieces. Currently Psy-Frame Gamma is seeing so much play people are not blind Maxx Cing before a monster hits the field which is a huge benefit to the deck. If you are at a lower rank and your opponents aren't as thoughtful this may not be true and it'll punish you for it.

Alternatives/Options

  • You can run the deck as a Spright variant which is hands down better. A bit less true to the Gishki spirit but better.
  • Deep draw pieces can be subbed for Evenly/SPoly which I like a lot, but even with this 2nd buff the deck still struggles to ever win going 2nd, for this reason I put all my marbles on going 1st.
  • Illusion is a hard brick, its great as it basically promising you game if you combo off, but you can consider removing it.
  • I also tried a Trade-In Leviathan/Soul Ogre engine which worked relatively well but I eventually cut it for stuff like Called by.

Small noteworthy gameplay interactions:

  • After you use Grimness you can only attack with rituals. This sucks.
  • Chicken Game + Zielgigas typically makes it so your Pain Gainer is giving every monster ~4,000 atk. Great for OTKs.
  • Ziel mandatory bounces, untargetting, so he is good at clearing your Chicken Game if you loop him enough.
  • You really need to manage your searches and order well, maximizing the likeliness you will draw Gishkis when you want (Ziel) vs hand traps (ending on Maxx C/Ash in hand) is crucial.
