Notes & Combos
Before you craft this deck: know that these kinds of Gryphon builds are much harder to play than Yubel decklists that use Apollousa.
But it has more strong 1-card starters and its end boards are tougher to break. Check out the Discord Server >>> #yubel chat >>> pinned messages for combo lines, and walk through them in solo mode before attempting them under the turn timer, to help learn the engine and types of resources you'll be managing.
I kinda like 40 card lists. Drawing all gas against FKSE really doesn't feel right.
Gryphon can solo games by itself; it's disgusting. Most of the time you'll re-set Escape, after having popped it mid-combo with Yama GY.
Chaos Angel is just to get damage faster; make it with Phantom + a main deck Level 1 DARK (likely Squirmer). Could also use Accesscode or Borrelsword there.
To make the non-Fiend Rank 6's, find some way to trigger Yama GY to summon 1 of the Level 6's and pop a set Escape to summon the other.
- Lars guards against board breaker S/T's or power spells like That Grass Looks Greener. You can summon them in defense, as your Pain + Phantom will protect them. Also put them under a Sprelf zone whenever you can... they could get more value than just trading for 1 Imperm.
- Beatrice lets DBB or Gates 1-card combos access the Yubel half, but the line is super greedy for now. If you feel like being a stun player, you could also add a 1-of trap floodgate to the list, send it with Beatrice, then set it with Gryphon.
If you keep getting yourself Fiend-locked at inconvenient times, depending on the meta, you could sub in D/D/D Wave High King Caesar.
