Notes & Combos

Took inspiration from Jay's list and Zetta's List I'm not sure why Jay's not running a 2nd punishmment for Traptrick, and why Zetta's list is not running 2nd Darumma for Traptrick, so I'd say thats the biggest difference. I dont have a 3rd bell and 3rd mourner so I just put a D.D Crow instead. I think it's still a pretty good handtrap in most matchups.

Honestly I don't think I'm that great with the deck, every game feels pretty hard (but winnable) and using the interruptions correctly and making the right decision in terms of getting more/the right engine rolling is the hard part about the deck. Obviously this also mean the deck is extremely consistent and skill expressive. The deck focus on value, consistency, and recursion, which means you cannot really get cheap wins and must win by 1 interaction most of the time before you get rolling (you cannot spit out a bunch of interactions out of nowhere like most combo decks).

The deck can pretty much always play since we don't auto lose to anything common (maxC/shifter/droll/etc) Going 2nd is hard without handtraps, but thats every deck. Sometimes going 2nd after handtrapping just gets us to a recuring diabellstar negate cycle until we can recoup some cards.

Since this is not really a combo deck, trying to generate as much value as possible for each card becomes pretty important, even when you can solve a board you always have to consider the followup. For example holding onto some handtraps when you have evenly match for turn 3 when you go second into a snake eye board with no negates (or only use them to prevent the negate setups) is usually what you have to do to be able to win against them from my experience since their turn 3 followup is just too strong/consistent.

TBH I ended up climbing to M1 with Vanquish soul instead (somehow.. it got me there from M5-M1 on the first day I learned the deck...) so I'm actually a fraud lol. But for questions about this deck just ask the folks in the Lab discord channel, particulary Jay and Zetta, they both played this deck as well and were both super helpful all the time so shoutouts to them.
