Notes & Combos

I reached Master Rank once again with my Evil Eye deck. I removed the Pot cards and Crystal Beast package because they were causing issues, particularly in my WCS 2024 DLv Max Run where I frequently drew the Garnet of the Crystal Beast package. The limited Pot cards feels so unworth it to play in these kind of deck cause, I really wanted to open them to let me draw my starters but since they are limited I open them few times, so I opted for Chicken Game and the Upstart Package instead.

This adjustment effectively makes my deck function as if it had only 34 cards. However, having a high number of draw cards can be problematic. You might end up drawing multiple neutral cards, leaving you to watch your opponent combo without being able to respond. Additionally, drawing cards that don’t help you when going second or breaking boards can be an issue.

To address this, I run 3 Forbidden Droplet. Droplet is effective at helping to break boards and remains useful going first, even though I would like to include more hand traps. Due to the nature of the Upstart and Chicken Game package, I need to include cards like Droplet. If I draw hand traps with Upstart and Chicken Game going second, they might not be very effective since the opponent could have already set up their board, unlike Droplet.

Additionally, I was torn between playing Bystial or Droll. Both are strong choices, but I decided on Bystial because it’s effective against decks like Voiceless Voice and Yubel. Although Bystial isn’t the best counter to Yubel, it’s still a viable option.
