Notes & Combos

Once you know a few combos, the only important thing to consider is this: If your opponent doesn't MAXX "C" you and doesn't scoop, they have Super Polymerization and / or Evenly Matched.

To play around this, you can end on Zealantis + Flamberge with an I:P set in the backrow (this plays around Superpoly and Evenly, because you can summon the I:P and go into an S:P, banishing your Zealantis and your S:P when they activate Evenly to save both bodies until end phase, and then kill on the crackback). I dislike this endboard as it ends on too few interactions -- it wins against Superpoly and Evenly, but loses to one Infinite Imperminence.

The other way is by playing one Rangbali, as I have here, and searching it as part of your combo on higher-ceiling hands. Ending on Amblowhale + Rangbali loses to Superpoly, but can negate Evenly Matched and, perhaps more importantly, can negate Called By the Grave, another really valuable negate for the deck. It's also nice to have another free summon / extension if you open the FK part of your deck, and good to have more fires in case you open Fire King Island and no starters. It also gives you another normal summon against Fossil Dyna, which you will definitly need around high Diamond.

I'm not smart enough to consistently do the Sunlight Wolf lines; if you're like me in that sense, you might get a lot more value out of swapping Wolf and Heatsoul for Assembled Nightingale and Zeus. Or just learn the lines, I guess, but you can get to M5 without knowing them.

I know this is a meta deck, but it's still one of my favorite decks to play, ever. I prefer it to the jet synchron build which just puts up 2 omni-negates + Appo because I actually feel like I'm playing the game turn 2 with this build -- and it's easier to break boards going second with the Fire King engine. Best of luck on your climb!
