Notes & Combos

Only started playing ranked this season on August 6th, so since I got to M5 on August 11th, that's not too bad. (it did take 50 games though and I did demote once after 5 straight losses in both coin flip and end result from D2 to D3)

So far, I've only played against VV once going second and lost (Ogre was my only handtrap). I can easily imagine it being a pain in general though since it's rough to play through a single negate going second with Traptrix. (at least it's not Baronne that can just pop a card before doing anything on the snapback to your opponent's turn)

Ran into Raidraptors once (they went second and scooped on my normal) and haven't seen Ice Barrier, so I'm not sure how things would go there.

I have been thinking about removing Ogre for Droll (and trying to add at least a second Droll), however, the game I was ******** on Ogre.. is the game that I went second against Yubel that got out Soul of Rage and having her let me actually play, so I haven't removed her yet.

I am super glad that Fire King Snake-Eye isn't everywhere. I've had a few games going second against them, banished Princess with Called By, and blown up their entire field.. but Garunix and their cards are super hard to stop given how easy they are to proc.. in both games, Garunix was the nail in my coffin.

I did see 4 Floo decks on my climb so far. Not sure why as a few were there even before Swallow's Cowrie was released. I guess it's just the luck of the draw in variance. Nothing has really changed against them. They are still just as annoying as ever.

As for my deck, Overroot is still really nice. Ogre is pretty good as well. TT comes up here and there, but is still super bad into Horus/Tear (haven't seen it against Fire King). Iron Thunder is still fine (might be able to say more about it if I had more copies in the deck).

This time around, Aussa and TY-PHON seem to be the most cutable from from the ED for how much I used them/how useful they were. There has been some chatter in the Discord to add in Asophiel again over TY-PHON.. given how rare TY-PHON is to actually help in scenarios. Most times, your opponent will have something with less than 3k attack that just removes it or some sort of handtrap/backrow that can take care of it.
