Notes & Combos

Master of Ham is one of the most based cards of all time so of course I had to find the best way to play it in MD. Now usually it would be paired with instant fusion but tearlament unfortunately robbed us of that. Then I found out that mirror swordknight was a 1 card master of ham + chimera handloop. I was experimenting with a prediction princess package in order to flip up the pot of the forbidden that master of ham would set but it felt too bricky with little payoff.

After that I saw that the melodious engine could be slotted in chimera and a lightbulb clicked. Melodious as an engine can easily put out the bodies needed to make borrelguard dragon as well as provide easy access to a beast monster in the form of cross sheep. It was also a much better payoff than the prediction princess package I used providing an omni negate, handtrap bait, and even letting me pendulum summon diabellze or mirror swordknight. Tamtam is also unique to chimera melodious builds being an additional poly searcher.

So that's what led to this decklist being made. I'm still not confident on the extra deck as of now, I rarely get to make the odd-eyes omni due to handtraps so I might cut it and run an additional guardian chimera and an apollousa while replacing the 2nd bacha with a schuberta for gy disruption since I would no longer need 2 level 7s. I do plan to take this build into M1 and be the first M1 list to feature the legendary hamster. Feel free to comment any questions you may have about the build.
