Notes & Combos

Climbing with Gold Pride P.U.N.K this season has been extremely frustrating. The deck can end on extremely powerful boards but is very fragile to hand traps as well as bricking much more than current meta decks do. I started with a 45 card version that didn't have Speedroids or Sinful Spoils in and got up to Diamond 3 before going on a 7 loss streak that brought me back to Diamond 5 before making this variant.

I decided to change from a 45 card to a 60 card variant. I was originally going to add in the Kashtira engine which is probably stronger than what I have here but I don't own any of the Kashtira cards and without a Secret Pack for them at the moment it's an extremely expensive engine to make even with half of them being limited.

Instead I added in a Sinful Spoils engine to begin with. The Package is very small and self-contained and doesn't interract with the rest of the deck too much however is great for baiting out negates such as Ash Blossom and Effect Veiler before playing any of the other engines in the deck. Apart from being there for bait, the deck has so many level 3 Tuners that getting Diabellstar on the field makes it very easy to go into Baronne if your hand doesn't allow you to do much else or they have Droll & Lock Bird up which is very hard to play through with this deck though not impossible. Silvera and Subversion are both here as options for if you can make Baronne or not, and if you're going 1st or 2nd. As Subversion is a Normal Spell it can be used the turn it's set which has come in pretty useful in games where i've gone second.

The Speedroid package was then added because one of the decks main issues in both the 40 and 60 card variant is drawing opening hands that don't have a way to drop your LP or being able to draw/search Captain Carrie. While Speedroids don't directly fix this issue, since Chariot Carrie is a generic Rank 3, opening with Terrortop in hand is an easy way to go into into her and at least end on Start Your Engines! even if you can't drop your LP in Turn 1 to make Chariot Carrie send to GY effect work. Speedroids are also an easy way to make Gossip Shadow to counter Nibiru which while not a great way to counter Nibiru, it is a way to do it without taking up too many resources from your other engines.
