Notes & Combos
This is a very difficult format for Marincess. The flavor-of-the month deck Snake Eyes has easy access to Kurikara and is happy to link off your tower with Underworld Goddess, making games hard to win even going first. Many players are running more handtraps than ever, including the most devastating for Marincess, Gamma and Ghost Ogre. Droll is not easy to play through either as Wave is usually essential for survival.
I abandoned the Icejade engine even though Gymir is a useful card against Snake Eyes, which relies heavily on Promethean Princess on your turn and to a lesser extent on Zealantis on theirs to win. If you aren't going to play the Ra variant then I reccomend playing the Icejade cards instead. Once I removed my copies of Ran Aegerine and shaved my deck down to 40 cards I rarely bricked, so cutting it benifitted me greatly.
As always, I am not playing Maxx C. This worked out as I went up to 3 droll instead of my usual 1 or 2 and had a slot for a turn 1 target for Thrust. Imperm just doesn't cut it this format. Ice Dragon's Prison is good against many decks in this format, but I also made use of Terrors of the Underroot. As for the other tech, Cosmic Cyclone is a good card because Branded and Lab players are running that awful Rainbow Magician floodgate, and Droplet is more viable now that there are fewer Kashtira players.
The Winged Dragon of Ra cards are fun, and Sphere Mode and True Sun God have some independent value. Look to my public replays and youtube channel (linked below) for examples of Ra gameplay.
