Notes & Combos

Hey guys! This is the list I hit Masters with for the first time! I'd say it took a good deal fewer than fifty duels to reach after hitting Diamond, but I didn't count super closely. Here are my thoughts on the deck:

TRAPTRIX is really good this format because it plays under droll insanely well and has lines that get to BAGOOSKA with only one special summon (of BAGOOSKA itself). Trap decks also tend to deal with the bug pretty well -- don't need to summon if everything's in your backrow.

The TRAPTRIX stuff is pretty standard; you could replace cularia with a second rafflesia to make the deck better. These are my preferred ratios because you want to draw MYRMELLO or PUDICA in every opening hand, plus one more name (EXCEED counts as an honorary TRAPTRIX). If you run fewer of the others, you just don't see them enough.

The DIABELLSTAR stuff is because I like the card, but has some nice synergies, and allows you to fix some bad hands by pitching HOLUTEA, a name to revive with HOLUTEA, or a dead Evenly. Her recursion also helps with the TRAPTRIX's grind game, which is already pretty decent, and acts as a recursive body for link spamming.

EXTRA DECK was mostly just what I had, though everyone saw use (except for CULARIA, really). Will replace Appo with S:P when she comes out; until then I would recommend Unicorn. Aussa is the real star here, stealing dead MAXX C's and using them to become ATYPUS because MAXX C fulfills the insect requirment.

PLAYING AROUND NIB: RAFFLESIA is your anti-Nibiru option, and you can always get to her in five summons or less with an interrupted line. I recommend doing so. A lot of the time you can extend into PINGULICULA or make RAFF for your fifth summon, and it should always be RAFF.

END BOARD: Your final board most games will be SERA + RAFF + a set trap (off of SERA's effect) + any handtraps + HOLUTEA in graveyard for a revive.

GOING SECOND: EVENLY is not good enough and should be replaced with more Imperms. It will almost never win you games and makes your field spell and set holes very awkward. DROLL is also not great this meta; I would swap it for Ghost Belle if you have the UR dust.

FINAL NOTE: Don't get baited into playing SHIFTER. Traptrix get's so much value out of the graveyard it's crazy. I understand it hurts other decks more. I don't think that's good enough logic. It hurts some other decks less.
