This variant of the umi-deck is made for going first vs. tenpai like most other decks recently. So usually the cards were included purely because they win vs. tenpai...

Going 1st:

Try to get kairyu-shin on the board - any other cards can be played before then to bait stuff. We run the slime package to have fuel for the horus cards and to get the 'The True Sun God' floodgate to specifically deal with tenpai. TTSG is also a great ash-bait. Sun God + SSA protection of your backrow usually stalls tenpai out for you to win on turn 3. Gymir also helps a lot vs. Tenpai.

Going 2nd:

Usually just try to get kairyu-shin out to make your opponent move all their monsters into the GY. We can search sphere-mode with TTSG, which comes up more than you would expect. Garunix is also nice for blowing up a board sometimes. The deck is surprisingly strong into voiceless-voice since you can usually bait the skullguardian negate and then get the umi-lock going. They literally can't play under umi-lock; just let them search for everything they want and safe your jelly negate for any random removal they might have.

Tech/cut-able cards?:

The deck is still running some cards that could be cut, but I haven't really put in the effort to do so.. In the main: I run imperm/evenly/daruma as thrust targets - could cut all of them probably, but I like having the daruma vs tenpai and the evenly to get some blow-out wins going 2nd.

I tested the 1 mirror mage + 2 ice barrier a bunch - as I was running 3x ice barrier before and I like it A LOT more. She gives you a bit more fuel in hand, helps the grind game a bit and is even a decent normal summon in a pinch.

I included 1 ran aegirine and 1 kaiju turtle as ice barrier targets, as they are nice to search every so often. Could definitely cut them as well - I usually cut the kaiju when I feel like there are no raidraptor falcon's/purrely's etc running around.

Extra deck:

Slime god - is nice when you hit guardian slime off zombievamp or get to summon it because of random effect dmg.

Dragite is your lvl 10 for when legendary ocean is up.

Gymir and Chengying are made with mirror mage + horus or ran aegirine.

Coach King Giantrainer - never make it.. Flex spot

Sanaphond - GY floodgate

Number 90 - anti nibiru mostly, also nice for full endboard

Dingirsu - removal from extra deck

Zombievamp - helps you get to kairyu-shin if you did not hard-draw it and baits imperms/veilers

Garunix go boom

TY-PHON - staple, get backsphere mode
