Notes & Combos
Here is my modern full handloop. Youtube video with the basic combo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyNBEL_v_Ko&t=149s&ab_channel=TwoToneShoes
I've also streamed a ton of games with the deck.
The idea is you get to Norleras, who wipes all cards on the field and in both hands, via Curious into Firewall Dragon. You summon Norleras by going through Shamoji (Light Fairy) and Dullahan, Beat Cop, and Unicorn as dark fiends on turn 1.
Before you Norleras, you make a 4-5k Arrival who survives the board nuke. Norleras draws you a card and in the end phase Barricadeborg adds back a resort for lethal followup turn 3.
This hand loop is very nifty because Spyral also stacks the top card of the deck, so you can even play around their draw.
You also have a route through Abyss Dweller, so you don't trigger anything off the handloops like Tearlaments.
The upside to this build is it doesn't matter how many evenly, drnm, or lava golems the opponent has. It's all going to the graveyard. Also, the combo is very resource light. I usually have an extra resort search and a spare rescue in gy through the full combo. So if someone saves Ash for my Double Helix, I have a backup search to make up for it.
Another nifty thing is Norleras is searchable by Small World very easily, meaning you can skip curious or bait an imperm with curious and still go to your real payoff. Also this deck has a decent backup plan if, say, you have to use Curious to get your plays started. Sleeper + Apo + Dweller + Unused Firewall is the backup board which is nothing to scoff at.
Lastly, I really like this variant because it plays only 1 card to enable it instead of heavier brick piles like the AFD lists with Secret Village and Auroradon garnets or jet synchron and destrudo variants. You just have norleras, and you don't care if you discard it off a danger cuz your deck is built to bounce it from gy anyhow, making it a great payoff for a danger build.
Downside of this deck is decks that can play out of the graveyard but don't trigger when sent. For instance, an enemy spyral deck could randomly get a quik fix and a couple of rescue missions sent to the gy and they can pop off from that. Or a zombie pile deck that gets 3 mezukis looped and a uni-zombie or something crazy. Depending on the combo you CAN make Apollousa after Arrival and Norleras to play around that, but it kills your followup so it's not always advised.
That's it for the breakdown. Hope you enjoy the degenerate hand loop.
