Notes & Combos
I have tried various @Ignister builds, including Towers, Mathmech, Code Talker, and others, but I always keep returning to the pure build since it has the best ratios of non-engine to engine to starters you can play.
Mathmech Ignister feels like a worse Mathmech with less non-engine space, the Code Talker build just makes no sense, and the Towers build is fun but doesn’t do enough to be viable.
My combo ends on unaffected Terahertz linked with Heatsoul, which draws 2 cards (one on your turn and one on your opponent’s). The goal of the deck is to play with hand traps on your opponent’s turn and stun them (since there is no way they can out an unaffected Terahertz with 8k attack), then OTK on the follow-up.
So far, I like the math of the deck; the percentage of opening cards works fine.
- Starters: 83.25% chance to open at least 1 starter card.
- Hand traps: 72.52% chance to open at least 2 hand traps.
- Engine: 72.52% chance to open at least 2 engine cards (enough since every Ignister starter eliminates 2 hand traps by itself; the other card helps you go full combo), 64.64% chance to open a starter + extender thet resaults in playing through 2-3 handtraps and still comboing.
The reason why I don’t go to Master 1 with this deck is because, at the time of posting, it’s July 31st and the end of the season. Plus, I really don’t feel like playing Master Duel anymore.
I could go on a rant about why that is, but I'm going to sum it up: as someone who thinks of himself as a competitive person (regardless of what deck I play), I just feel like this is a waste of my time. I find the TCG to be more interesting than MD even though the format is complete garbage. I’m burned out, and every time I launch the game, I feel like I’m playing as a part-time job and I don’t get any joy from leveling, playing, or ranking up.
This will be my final list for some time since I’m not sure I will return to MD for a while.
I hope my lists helped all the Cyberse fans out there, and I really hope you guys learned something from me posting my decks. Check out my profile and previous posts for explanations of the math of the deck.
I don’t know what else to say. Have fun, keep playing what you like, and most of all, good luck!
