Notes & Combos

I can't count how many times I thought I would lose going second with this deck, but we're here anyway! I feel like I've hit the sweet spot with the card ratios, but we'll see if that changes. In any case, Dinomorphia Exosisters has arrived at Master 5!

// Here's the breakdown:

Ideally, lead with Exosister combos and then Dinomorphia. Opening with Martha and Therizia is best.

Under Maxx or Ash, just a Martha +/ Elis on field is usually enough. I also deliberately won't XYZ if I drew a Fusion Trap or if Maxx'd.

Use Therizia and Elis to summon Mikailis and search for Pax. The Dino cards can be used to XYZ for searches (they're generic mats!) and Alert-ing on the opponent's turn has been crucial when the time calls. Keep in mind that Alert and Martha lock into the archetypes. On your opponent's turn it's usually best to first interrupt their plays unless you need Rex's protection immediately.

Occasionally I might not see one half before the duel is won. I'll draw into the next and by then my opponent is often exhausted of resources or isn't ready for it.

//Matchups:

  • Branded is usually a good matchup. Lacking easy negates, you pretty much have your way with the board. Rex really hinders their plays and Asophiel stops their recovery.
    • Super Poly, Branded Beast, and Blazing Dragon are major hurdles. Quaeritis is bad if you have other monsters in attack—Rex won't be able to protect them.
  • Tear has become a lot easier due to the hits to the Ishizu cards.
    • Bagooska is only outable with Punisher, Ferret, or Imperm attack. Be sure that they do not get two four star monsters on board otherwise.
  • Floo requires Imperm. or Ash. Gibrine and Rex is your best bet for a wincon.
    • It is difficult to catch up with them unless Rex is on field with low LP. Empen also makes using certain cards more awkward. Unexpected Winds + Book of Moon are troublesome too.
  • Swordsoul has been surprisingly difficult, but only when going second. If you're going first they can't reliably get into any of their plays and vice versa.
    • Baronne and Chixiao hinder a lot of turn 2/3 plays. Imperm. or Strike help. Blackout and Vishuda are almost always issues unless they are dealt with preemptively.
  • Spright is fine as long as you can get Rex out. Be wary of Giant's effect when making plays.
    • Smashers and Underworld Goddess are the biggest threats. Try to have Alert ready or two Rex out.

Imperm., Ferret, and Ash are MVP. GL!

Replays

Everything after May 2023 should feature this deck or some minor variant of it that reflects the meta at the time. (Everything else, old pet decks.) That said, all main plays/combos here are feasible in its current iteration.

// Changelog:

  • Bystials were unnecessary. Made the deck too clunky.
  • No significant changes from 06/25/2023 at D1.
