Notes & Combos

After experiencing brick hands and poor openings with Evil Eye during the WCS 2024 Qualifiers, I've decided to return to playing Phantom Knights this season as my backup main deck. You might wonder why I don't use the Horus engine with PK. The reason that I prefer the pure PK build with a small Level 3 engine over pile PK is that, imo, the pure PK board is still strong. I also prefer a lot of handtraps since my build features 13 handtraps. These handtraps allow me to disrupt my opponent's plays even in my turn 0, and if I wasn't able to setup my board due to Maxx C or an unfortunate interruption, I can still interrupt them. I also have better chances in matchups where Maxx C resolves, since my build allows me to draw more handtraps naturally.
