Notes & Combos
Climb progress:
Plat V -> M5 (didn't play last season so I started in plat)
Oh man, oh man, oh man, this deck ROCKS. It plays on an entirely different axis than any other deck I've played, and forces opponents into really uncomfortable positions with loads and loads of choices to make. Reminds me weirdly of ishizu tear, so hey, still not beating the allegations.
MVPs are DEFINITELY the battle tricks and the draw cards. Legitimately dozens of times I was able to blank R-ACE or SE's battle phase, let them go to the endphase, and activate Rollback targeting Balance, drawing 9+ cards. I won due to time out multiple times with this deck, and going second I never really felt out of the game. Most decks can't deal with set 5 pass, even with a fully board.
Other cool interactions are:
- Rollback target burst
- Leancholia target rollback
- Marincess lock into Zealantis to banish the opp's entire board (usually any way into Cambro -> summon coral -> summon back cambro -> zeal)
- Soldier dragon often turns into a 1 card 6 mat zeus which is very very silly
- Paleos can STILL ATTACK after using S:P's on summon effect
- S:P target a paleo doesn't banish them
- Elf -> Gigantic is a really useful Zeus line for getting over big guys
The worst matchup for me was definitely salad going second. The pyro pheonix alone solos the entire deck unless I drew rollback, which wasn't too often.
Lab, interestingly enough, wasn't a huge issue, mainly because WOW lab players really suck below master.
I finally understand rouge players now. I'd play this deck until the end of time dude. Second most fun I've had playing this game (#1 goes to tear format). Gonna try to take this to M1 but I probably don't have the time.
List is heavily based on Joshua Schmidt's lists, and I made a few changes as I went along. I was running lost wind, morganite, good goblin housekeeping, whole bunch of stuff, before I finally landed on this build.
