Notes & Combos

So, this deck's super powerful playing first, of course. Noir is an insta-win against a few matchups, the recursiveness of my friend and street are nuts, and ofc the draw X off of sleepy is absurd. This list's pretty standard but there are a few things of note.

Main Deck:

  • I was running 2 thrust for a bit, but ultimately, wasn't finding too much use out of it. I was only ever really searching talent, and in that case, I might as well just run the 3 talents and call it a day.
  • One of droll is because it didn't really come up often (purrely draw step, didn't run into dlink too often in ladder), but when it did, it was a bit nifty.
  • Kurikara I'd for sure bump up to 2 or 3, it's so good into purrely and kash, and helps against a few other strats as well.
  • I don't really like running imperm. It's good going second, but is a dead draw going first, and in my experience, this deck's in-engine board breaking ability is so strong that I found running imperm wasn't super worth it.
  • Book is SO STRONG. Going first it helps you dodge imperms and effect veilers, as well as completely shutting down opposing purrely and kash players. Made it a 3 of when Arise came out and have not regretted it one bit.
  • My yeap and street ratios I played with a bunch. I settled on 1 street and 2 yeaps, but I'll probably switch those around. Street is very, very good going second, and is handy going first, but it can be bricky. Yeap is for the most part a "win more" card, enabling the funny draw 6 lines. The reason I'd bump down yeap is that those lines are VERY punishable (book is running around a bunch now, thrust is a thing, etc.), whereas being able to just street turn 2 and get targetting protection + a free level 1 off an xyz being outted is SO good. The one thing about yeap is that it can deny a Maxx "C" draw, but honestly, Maxx "C" is a non issue for this deck going first. Going second yeap doesn't do a thing against Maxx "C" anyways. Neither are a 3 of tho.
  • I've seen some people cutting ash which I think is insane. Just bc this deck plays decently into Maxx "C" is not an excuse to cut it LOL. Same with called by.
  • Honestly, I might play with going over 40 to fit in imperm or more kurikaras or nibiru but I'll see.

Anyways I'm at character limit, this deck's cracked. Swap protector for anima and nightengale is literally the MVP.
