Notes & Combos
If Malicious ever comes back to 3 in MD I will weep tears of joy.
Build has choices to make it better against Tenpai. Was 40%+ of my games this season. Can play through lots of disruptions with multiple engines, and has insane follow-up while ending on strong boards.
Some non-standard choices I will explain;
Illegal Knight - A lot of lists are not on this, but its too good to pass up with DPE. Not only a strong going second tool, but allows you to turn your adventure play into Rusty + DPE. Normally 2 lvl 3s adventure play would end on Cherubini + Gryphon Rider, But if you are on Illegal, its Rusty, 2 Fog Blades, + DPE with much better followup. Also makes hands better, if you draw Knight/Gryphon, board becomes stronger, instead of the usual -1.
Number 38: Hope Harbinger - A lot of lists prefer Photon Lord, but I find it to be unneccesary and far less useful than 38 in the current meta. Adventure engine already protects you from Nibiru, and most hands end on 2 Fog blades, so monster negates are less important. 38 Protects you from board breakers and allows you to interact with spells without using your gryphon Omni. Also, in the Tenpai matchup, 38 becomes invaluable, not just to negate breakers, but because its attack redirection effect skips the phase of the damage step where Chundra and Fadra trigger.
Link Spider / Almiraj - Purely for the purpose of making material for S:P/Verte. Spider is for Shade Brigandine, and sometimes Adventure Token. Almiraj makes the 6 Maindeck PKs (Boots, Cloak, Gloves) a 1 card DPE/S:P. They also make your Accesscode line better if you have gone through them.
Combos are highly variable based on what you open. Will include some basic lines, but dont expect to spreadsheet combo your opponent.
All shown combos assume you have no other resources, mill blanks, and pitch/summon blanks. Your engines will combine profitably, and endboards typically look much better than the ones shown here. Most of these are also intended to maximize follow-up, and when you get to know the deck and your matchups, you can opt to go for a higher ceiling instead of more follow-up. One common decision you will make is Breaksword vs Leviair. Breaksword offers another potential disruption by using Fog Blade to bring it back to a Rusty Zone, Levi offers more follow-up and allows you to use Breaksword to clear cards on turn 3. Most of the Adventure inclusive lines can be altered to play around Nibiru at the cost of an additional discard.
