Notes & Combos

Hello everyone! As my hiatus is over, I will continue to climb with Dark Magician in the rank ladder until King of Games come out and hopefully by then I will be posting videos going over these duels! That is it from me, the rest will be weaknesses,strengths and changes with explanations from this DM variant! Thank you.

Strengths:The toy engine allows plays to go through from being handtrapped by ash,imperm, and veiler. And since you are playing with DM, this deck can play around Maxx C the Roach. Baiting with souls, or normal summoning with souls to draw 2 with the toy engine and stack your hand with handtraps without special summoning. Furthermore, with the right hand this can at least establish some protection/board through your opponents own fully built board.

Weaknesses: As a DM centric deck, this deck is still weak to board breakers, shifter effects, and graveyard manipulation. Even with toy box, their weaknesses are shared with DM. Furthermore, if your opponent knows your chokepoints and prevents any possible followup then you have an abysmal chance to win since most combos are 2 card combos.(plz Konami we need 1 card combos for DM)

Changes: We had a few changes with the new season along with the experience of playing the deck and preference in dueling style. The most questionable changes as a DM user would be the removal of Dragon Knight and Bagooska. So lets cut to the chase, Dragon Knight removal is due to lack of dragon access, lack of turn 1 access, and it is too sloww in this meta. So its been cut out for relinquished anima. For the Bagooska removal it is due to preference and how it doesnt prevent the number of bodies on the board. While Bagooska is stronger than the Xyz Roach, the roach isnt a floodgate(so I have the moral highground) and it counters yubel,diabellstar, and synchros which are at a new high with the current meta. Attempted changes were adding a search target for toy box soldier and replacing imperm with Evenly Match. These changes actually costed me 2 days of progress so I returned with 2 copies of soldier and changed the rations of Forbidden Droplet and Nibiru to 2.
