Be greedy and go for the Elegy lines, Nib isn't real and dying to Raigeki/Dark Hole/Black Rose feels really bad.

Droplet didn't come up that often, could cut one for a second concerto or both for concerto and another ghost ogre.

I made it back to Master V...phew

I don't think there are enough incentives to climb up to Master I, which means, this is probably as far as I go this month.

It's a melodious deck! There are some unusual choices compared to other Melodious decks out there.

Upstart Goblin

Thanks to our girl Sonata and the deck's overall swarming capability, giving my opponent a potential +3k LP is not a big deal. It improves the consistency of the deck.

Pot of desires

More consistency to the deck, sometimes you gotta be careful so as to not banish Aria, Concerto or Schuberta, which is why I try to activate it AFTER i summon/search those cards.

Skull Meister

Anti Gimmick Puppet measures. They are also an acceptable tech against 90 % of the decks I see in the ranking ladder.

Double Underworld Goddess

Maybe it's a bit of overkill, but I am a bit scared of Kashtira's Unicorn effect. The card itself is AMAZING in this deck despite the Bloom and Solo xenolocks. It won me a lot of games in turn 3.

No Maxx C

Rather unconventional approach. My personal experience is that my Maxx C effect was negated way too many times (Ash, Called by the Grave, Droll and so on) Also Maxx C does nothing when going first.

So there you have it. I am so glad i reached Master V with a Melodious deck. Yuzu a cute! A CUTE!

Really fun deck, didn't really go through the generic extra deck, but it can come up, so the endboard is etoile, schuberta, battle/target protection, with sometimes destruction by eff protection and a second schuberta, you can also put a bagooska + etoile + bacha(bacha will allow etoile to not be negated by bagooska) but i rarely did that combo

the cool part of this deck is how much handtraps can eat sometimes, ostinato is a ash magnet, then bacha if negated has a revival eff, then u got link plays, refrain getting negated, there's sooooo much

deck can be good against tenpai, I think maybe samurai destroyer could give a bit of problem but they never used against me so they couldnt destroy by battle the board nor effs and in the crackback destroy them

downsides: WHY ETOILE IS NOT FOR SET CARDS? WHY SHOPINA HAD TO SHUT DOWN MY ASH IF I GET MAXX C I CANT ASH AAAAAAAAAAA

Underrated deck, board is difficult to break and can usually survive some handtraps just fine. If you can 1st movement into Aria and still have full combo do it. D barrier is broken and is a good target for both thrust and crossout. the herald hand traps are crazy good and you can recycle them with Sophina. Bloom Prima is good at ending games, would run Bloom Diva but dont have it and never missed it.\nMay want to run more Kuriphoton after Gimmick Puppets come.

This is not seeking practicality, rather being a gigantic raspberry towards the MD meta and structure when it goes off. So "cheese". This deck sacrifices a bit of consistency and handtraps for Thrust and targets. List here:

Dark Hole: It's a more practical, if less accessible, way to clear garbage from your Field to activate a good number of Melodious cards. Also a board wipe most decks aren't tailored to respond to.

Dimensional Barrier: Tenpai's around, and works on other meta strats. You can set this on a hunch based on the HTs your opponent has.

Torrential Tribute: More all-purpose boardwipe that Elegy grants the Melodious immunity to. Not many results from this one.

Necro Fusion: The most fun target, or additional endboard piece when drawn. As long as you set up Etoile, this gives you a strong backbone in Summoning Bacha to get Aria or Elegy on the Field, whichever you're missing. It can also serve as a cheeky answer to Droplet and DRNM if used correctly, as your other Fusions, previously negated, now won't be. Definitely saw many results from this one, but a tad clunky.

I wouldn't say this was an impossible climb, but I will say that I had to face a bazillion Tenpai players;

Only one of them ever summoned Samurai Destroyer on me and it was the M1 Rank-Up.
Only one of them ever summoned Baronne on me and they got chain blocked at the right time because they Ashed my Fusion Spell in GY on turn 1.

and yet... there were others that never did that and won by the sheer luck of drawing Droplet or Maxx "C" against the right hand. So many misplays left and right.

Needless to say, this was a battle of me drawing "normal" hands and my opponents not having every single answer they ever wanted. Typical Master Duel, right?

The other matchups were all over the place. Besides Tenpai, I faced random stuff like Scareclaw Mannadium, Mathmech (ok, maybe that makes some sense), Yubel (sensible), and for some godforsaken reason, Snake-Eye Horus Yubel palooza 60 card piles that almost always opened enough gas to play through 3 hand traps (stop encouraging them holy moly dude). I even faced a... going 1st Skull Servant FTK, like bro can you not?

Alright that's my rant. :^)

Onto some of the interactions that helped me the most:

To completely turn off imperm/veiler, 1st Movement summon Aria is so satisfying. This is also really frustrating for Snake-Eye Fire King players to deal with, as it turns off Promethean Princess. Their only out I think is Zealantis if you establish Aria + Elegy for full targeting and destruction protection.
If you expect to get Impermed on Bacha but you don't have 1st Movement, send Refrain as one of your Fusion Materials from Ostinato. If they don't Imperm Bacha, special summon Aria and you're home free as long as you have any other Melodious monster to link summon with.
If Etoile dies by battle, you get to summon Bacha in the Damage Step, which leads to Refrain->Couplet revive Aria, or summoning Aria directly, which cannot be Ashed or Dropleted until after resolution. A nice way to float in battle phase.
