EDITED: There was originally an issue with the content creator Crab Master Duel, who uploaded videos using my lists without linking to my writeups here that explain my very suboptimal card choices (like having 1x of each Crusadia for no gameplay reason). Several viewers expressed confusion at their piloting of the deck, and my comments attempting to provide an explanation were deleted. However, somebody has since convinced them to link to my MDM posts, so everything has been resolved.

It's not about claiming credit or ownership of my lists; I'm sharing them so people can try them, take ideas, and improve on them. My only issue was with links to my MDM posts being deleted, since we are all here to share knowledge and advance deckbuilding theory after all. My deckbuilding is amateur-level, but I want anyone even remotely intrigued by my decklists/the archetypes to be able to read my writeups, engage with my reasoning, and then come up with even better decklists with their own flavor. That's the only way we can keep World Legacy alive. Thanks all!

hey mate, this isn't a combo deck tbh. The combos are extremely short, and the real essence lies in the navigating the midrange...or at least what happens on turn 2 and beyond. I have no idea how to make a combo guide because of this. There are basically a few simple lines, and you pivot from there depending on hand and gamestate. Examples:

Crusadia-only line: Climb to Magius, search Draco (for extra body), go Regulex, search Krawler (to gain access to WL engine), and then go Equimax with possibly IP below depending on hand. Krawler summons to Equimax zone on turn 2 so Equimax gets an "on-field omni-negate," and then IP can link Equi off into Astram or S:P or Unicorn...depending on what you need. One use for Unicorn is to discard something in hand, like Mind Meld, which becomes a devastating combo if you also opened WL Pawns, for example.

Crusadia w/ WL line: (Such as with WL Succession in hand) After Regulex adds Krawler, go into Lib. Lib sets whatever trap is best given the hand. If need disruption, can summon a Crusadia below Lib, then set WL Awakens to be able to link on turn 2 for Lib's bounce + whatever u summon's effect (S:P/Unicorn). If there is no Mekk-Knight in hand, can set Memory to get the Mekk engine going next turn. U can do this if u have a bunch of handtraps so u are confident u can survive.

Crusadia w/ Mekks line w/ WL card in hand OR extra Mekk: After Regulex adds Krawler, go into Morning Star, discard the extra WL/Mekk card to add WL Secret (which can utilize the Mekks that are now in GY). To do this, the monster summoned under Regulex must be a Mekk, meaning you needed backrow before that; so you might have to change things up depending on hand.

Girsu line: Girsu send Mind Meld, make Lib. Lib set WL Pawns. I am still undecided if summoning Deus with Mind Meld is better on turn 1 or in draw phase of turn 2.

Can you go over your choice of World Legacy monsters? My normal go to is armor, but I'm also very heavily Mekk-Knight biased so I don't know how key and chalice play into the crusadia strategy.

Sure! World Chalice is mostly for turn 3. If I have already set up Deus, then it is the send for Girsu for the follow-up search. Also consider the following situation: Say I have already summoned one Purple Nightfall on my turn 1 and have Memory additionally set. Deus not set up yet. In the end phase of turn 2, I would use Memory to summon Girsu instead of a 2nd Purple. On that SS, Girsu sends Chalice. It then returns to hand, and on turn 3 I get Chalice's search, plus I then get to NS Girsu to send Mind Meld. I did this a few times during this climb.

Had I played Armor instead of Chalice, I wouldn't have been able to get the additional value from that 2nd consecutive Girsu summon/send. In general, I would rather get my 1st WL search (Guardragon or Succession) from Chalice without having to summon anything. To illustrate, let's return to that earlier play. Say my hand is empty, I only have the Girsu from that Memory, and I drew into something useless like Maxx C on turn 3. Since Lib is often killed on turn 2, let's say the EMZ is free. Purple returns in Standby. So there is only Purple on board at this point.

Chalice search Guardragon. Purple banish to search Blue, Girsu NS send Mind Meld. Girsu token, make Lib. Lib sets Pawns. Guardragon SS Draco to Lib's Link Zone and retrieve another Crusadia. Shift Draco out of Lib's Link Zone, SS the retrieved Crusadia and make IP below Lib, and prepare to SS Deus behind Astram. I still have Blue in hand from that Purple banish.
With Armor instead, Lib would have to set Succession, Succession SS Armor, and then Armor searches Pawns. I can't make Astram without committing my Blue at this point, or I would have to search Guardragon with Armor instead, and the powerful Deus line goes dead. I think it's less efficient.

Now assume Lib survived turn 2, so EMZ is not free.

NS Girsu, but Girsu token effect can't be used. Chalice gave me Guardragon, I'm able to SS Draco to Lib's Link Zone, get an extra Crus, and use Girsu + Draco to make IP. Lib sets Pawns, of course. Astram again, but with Blue + the Crusadia in hand.
With Armor, we do the Succession play again, Armor grabs Pawns. Armor + Girsu into IP. Once again, I am one body and one backrow down compared to (1).

IMO the main benefit of Armor over Chalice comes on turn 1, but I will always send Mind Meld over Armor on turn 1, so yeah. Didn't really see the need here. Also, I suppose Armor can be used several times in a duel as well, but do I really want to spend HOPT Succession to SS Armor to grab something else? Succession usually has better targets later in duels, like Draco again or a Link monster. Still, I may be missing something with Armor from the pure Mekk player's perspective, so do let me know if I have. I'll be honest, I prefer Chalice's color and aesthetic, so I'm biased!

World Key: "No Normal Summon = Scoop". With Almiraj, makes columns for Mekks if no Crusadia line. Can be SS-ed with One for One (terrible value but in a pinch, like if Girsu is Impermed/Veilered). WL just lacks good normal summons, so it's a consistency pick. It was this or World Crown for the spot, and I prioritized NS coz of my bricking issues in the beginning. If I need to get to Lib and have no 2nd Crusadia in hand or something, I can NS Key, make Almiraj, and SS the 1 Crusadia I do have. So you can see how it works for both the Mekk and Crus lines for me. World Crown, conversely, depends on a Crusadia/Girsu opener to be live. But TBH I will try to tweak the list more so I can replace it...it is the worst NS in the deck by a mile.

I would say Galatea/Ding are very much plan D or something. Those are the least-summoned in the ED for sure. it was great to have that line when it came up in a pinch, and Ding definitely contributed to a number of victories (like by protecting Deus), but you can definitely replace them with more conventional bosses like Baronne and Savage as u mentioned. I did my best to stay away from win-conditions outside of World Legacy because of personal taste, but rationally it makes sense to add more power the way you suggest. Remember, my list is intentionally gimped due to the pure WL restriction.

There isn't much of a line, it's just Girsu + any monster makes Galatea, and summon Ding on top of Galatea. If you need Ding's send, use it, but you can also attach a banished World Chalice and get that WL search again the next turn (or whenever you send it back to GY). The nice thing in the midrange is that once you get Ding in GY, you can re-summon it with Succession/WL Secret and get the Send/Attach effect again. What makes this line really good is that you can play Zeus. Swing with Ding and you can just make Zeus, using just Girsu and 1 monster. Or just Girsu and its token (has to become Link Spider to become Galatea). A pretty cheap Zeus. However, I took Zeus out because...not WL I guess haha

I used to play with 3-4 Synchros in my ED back in my OCG days. Baronne (was added later), Savage, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, and Ib (later TG Wonder Magician). 10/8/7/5. So I can say it definitely is a very reasonable and natural approach given Arboria and the Mekks, precisely. (7 is good because of the Crusadia monsters; I would suggest FA Dawn Dragster as it patches up a major weakness, the lack of S/T negation.) However, back then, Halq was a thing and I would search Arboria with Magius to make Halq with ease, thus boosting Tuner access. Now, you have to rely on hard-drawing the levels you need, so I wasn't able to make the Synchros as often when I tried. Even in my 2022 lists here on MDM, I used to play B.Savage, but I honestly think it came up less often than even Galatea/Ding do for this current deck. So you will have to get a bit creative if you would like the Synchros to feature more actively in your deck. Also, building for Synchro access probably means you want to make this deck more combo-oriented rather than what I'm doing with a rather lightweight turn 1. Stuff like Guardragon and Awakens probably gotta go, and you want to focus your resources on turn 1 rather than turn 3 and beyond like I do. Maybe Revolution Synchron? Never tried it though.

i make some test on your deck and first thing, the base of the deck is really cool but i don't think synchro will be as awesome as i espected maybe Ib can arrange that ? But Ib are really based on normal monster so you will have to play normal monster support like unexpected dai but in the end its not that bad, you can make link spider for ss a normal in hand or use WC Guardragon for ss form the grave.

recently i found something interesting, the new support for Orcust can be played in your deck with some arrangement, that can make Girsu into a one card combo that make a omni-negate + Deus + WL awaken to link into Avramax with Lib. However you have to play WL wand that are a massive brick i think (you can discard the card with Morning Star and add like Chalice and then ss Chalice with Wand effect for extend but that all i can think outside the Girsu combo)

maybe in the more based Orcust deck, but the problem is that all monster from this Archetype lock in dark and really messed up your mekk knight or crusadia lines, still if you want to see the combo with Girsu i'll link you a replay from DB (use fast forward)\n"https://www.duelingbook.com/replay?id=175831-65068133"

PS : after some more testing i figured out that Gen the diamond Tiger and Ken the Warrior Dragon are amazing for your deck and can maybe improve your consistancy ( possibility to draw more or discard our oppossant, and add a monster the oppossant board for Mekk-Knight and give a another way to Blue Sky to add a card + protecting you from imperm )

Hey thanks for reporting back with your findings! I'm waiting for Ib to be freed here so I can test it, but yeah it's going to be inconvenient to summon her with the current lineup. Will have to play some different starters as you mentioned, but yeah I guess I will test it when she is finally free. I have no idea for now how to consistently access her.

YOOO thanks for sharing that DB replay! That is one sick combo!!! Wow I haven't even thought about how to use the new cards yet, but your combo is SO helpful, thanks so much for sharing! I am not planning on playing Orcust monsters in my main deck even with the new support (due to Dark lock as you said, but also because Crusadia vs Orcust haha), but your combo only requires World Wand, so it's great for me! I don't think it's too much of a brick, at most it will replace World Chalice if it gets too bricky with both of them in the deck. I think it's fine. Honestly, thank you so much for sharing this replay. I don't have a combo brain, I cannot find combos like this myself, so I really appreciate you finding and sharing this with me. Thanks!
As for Gen and Ken - yes, I have been talking to the Mekk players and they have been using that as well. I think it is an option for Mekk decks, but since I am a Crusadia player first and foremost, I think Gen and Ken overlap with the Crusadia monsters in role. Primarily I would be interested in using them for the Normal Summon, but unlike Crusadia monsters, they cannot be SS-ed; without that dual role, they become useless in hands next to Girsu for example, since I would always choose Girsu over them. I would also always choose to NS Crusadia over Gen/Ken to get into my actual engine, and because Crusadia is the heart of my deck. So then your hand value goes down with Gen/Ken stuck as they have to be normal summoned. But for a more Mekk-focused deck, I agree, Gen and Ken are good options, just need to check the ratios because you don't want too many hands with both Gen/Ken AND Girsu. Wasted value there. I encourage you to play them with your own build if you like them! It's great that we can build in different ways based on our own preferences, that's the beauty of YGO ;)

yeah, it's for World Key. An additional copy of World Key essentially to raise consistency since Lib/WL access is critical. As I mentioned in the writeup, just took the idea from LMT's recent Rikka list really, not particularly wedded to it. The thing about this deck is neither engine (Mekk/Crus) has unconditional/"free" special summons like most modern decks do, so the Girsu opener for example is just ridiculously fragile despite high ceiling, with no in-engine way of extending past an Imperm/Veiler. One for One is just the most convenient card I found that helps get that second body on field after Girsu's been negated. Also works with the Crusadia link climb (so hands with only 1 Crusadia and One for One can still get to Lib w/ Krawler, essentially making One for One a "2nd Crusadia in hand"). Bonus that it's a Normal Spell, which works well with Mekks for column creation. But yeah I'll try to rework some things because, as I've said, World Key itself is the worst normal summon in the deck, just that it is both a WL name AND a normal summon, while One for One is a last-ditch type of play that perhaps isn't worth it over simply playing 2 other cards that strengthen winning positions instead.
