Notes & Combos
Somehow got an 18 win streak against Diamonds/Masters with mirror force. I'll take it.
41 cards because I think it's funny. Realistically I'd be fine cutting the second Floodgate Traphole since I never Trap Tricked for it, and Myrmeleo was often searching for Holeutea for turn 3 followup/backup Traptrix for Arachnocampa's quick effect in case Myrm got Kaiju'd, etc.
(Bucephalus→)Garura off Dogmatika Punishment still being legal is both funny and pretty enticing so I went with it as my bread and butter trap.
Traptantalizing Tune grew on me the more I used it this festival. Being able to cycle a Holeutea into the GY early is quite nice, and it's why I'm running a larger Traptrix lineup since I can pitch extra normal summons. Ignoring Arachnocampa because I vastly prefer to leave her in hand to avoid Impermanence, 8 in a ~40 card list maximizes the chance of seeing exactly one normal summon (40/5 card hand = 8); more and you start increasing the odds of seeing 2+. In a slower format without Sera, it's probably better to see 0 names than 2+, but Tune helps me mitigate the 2+ so I'm happy with 8.
On the subject of probabilities, 2 Tune is definitely incorrect: 3 is better for hand fixers, especially in a format without Ash Blossom. I was just lazy with re-crafting the third copy I absent-mindedly dusted last month. That said, the "happy" outcome where you resolve Tune without encountering extra copies of it only goes up by ~3.6% → ~1 in 28 games. So it's kinda whatever.
Huge Revolution is Over is a card I didn't remember till looking at other submissions while doing this writeup. I think it deserves some spots to supplement Arachno/Judgment but unironically I'd rather drop Compulsory over Storming Mirror Force. The format has little backrow hate that can be accessed from the Extra Deck that I'm reasonably happy letting people develop their boards to sack them for their life savings with Storming. Thank you Mommy Drident for being unable to target facedowns.
On the subject of Drident, I'm running Diamond Dire Wolf as a supplement for that reason. I've yet to resolve him, but one day for sure. 🙏
Of the Mirror Forces, I like Storming's coverage since it works well against Lyrilusc and Mother Spider Splitter OTK. Less good against Ancient Warriors since they just go back to hand but you have to lose out somewhere. Quaking is interesting because it hits all the blind second decks, but I think this deck struggles the most against other going-first decks, many of which involve link monsters so I skipped over Quaking.
