Notes & Combos
So! This is a far different take on Infernoble than normal, this is because for this event both Charles are banned. For this reason we have to find a different, but still strong, endboard, and I settled on Topologic Bomber Dragon as the centerpiece of the strategy. You could do other pay-offs using a similar line, such as using the codebreakers to end on Powerload Ogre+Knightmare Gryphon. I believe this is weaker, but there's a lot of room to cook in this event!
I have only included three combos because I cannot write an entire guide for an event, but this deck has the classic Infernoble flexibility between endboards and through interruption. Play it by hand!
The main combo aims to end on Bomber Dragon, Powerload Ogre, Salamandra With Chain, and Infernoble Knight Roland in your hand. This board is deceptively powerful because it can trigger Bomber Dragon twice. How? Simple! By playing a 2nd copy of Synchro Roland in the ED, we can trigger Angelica on our opponent's turn using Roland in Hand or Roland in GY (notable to prevent losing to a chainblock) to summon another copy of Roland to a link zone. This triggers Bomber Dragon wipe #1. To trigger it a second time, you have to use Salamandra With Chain before triggering Bomber Dragon the first time. This way it will go to the GY when Angelica leaves the field (or Bomber Dragon blows up what it is equipped to), and you can use the GY effect to fusion summon Fighting Flame Dragon to a link zone, triggering Bomber Dragon a second time!
The goal of ending on Powerload Ogre is to answer decks that set 5 and pass, not only because he's a towers that survives Bomber Dragon's board wipe, but because he can tribute himself to pop 4 of your opponent's cards. Cleaning up backrow quite easily!
There is a lot of flexibility in ending on interruptions through your opponent's handtraps through Flame Swordsman engine book of moons/Ultimate Flame Swordsman, Horn of Olifant, and Immortal Phoenix Gearfried. This deck should be more than enough to grind the event for gems!
Budget Options:
- Cut 2 Gearfried, you only really need 1 but 3 is for better playing around handtraps and in particular Nibiru.
- Draco Master of the Tenyi->Taotie Dragon. More restrictive to summon and a less useful effect, but does the job of giving you the link arrows necessary for the Codebreakers.
- Dempsey cannot be Artorigus unfortunately, warrior locking yourself via Ricciardetto cuts you off of Bomber Dragon.
