Notes & Combos
Ohhhh boy.... Just barely limping across the finish line. This was not an easy climb at all. Scareclaw is obviously not going to be competative in this meta. Where Tear can fill a board with a slight gust of wind, every game for us is holding breath for SOME interaction, which it often struggles to find sadly. Especially when playing on both turns is the norm Tear brings. Also Sulliek just wrecks us.
Pray your opponant doesn't read, or that you have enough gas to power through their negates/disruptions. Luckily, when this does happen, we can sneak in for the quick win.
Battleplan
If we go first, we try to set up disrutions to the best of our ability. There are usually two paths:
- Light Heart - Gets us the field spell and more gas via the search. Ending on Tri-Heart isn't the worst, but you really need more, which is why we have...
- Adventure - Gets us a negate on the field via Gryph. If we don't start with this, we can try to get into Cherubini to sent Water Enchantress. I do think she needs to come back to 2 now.
If you're lucky and also draw into your other gas sources, ETele/Phychic's + Illegal Knight, you also can net yourself a Baronne. I:P can also be an option to get to Avara/Unicorn/Goddess on turn 2.
I feel that this deck does best going second, but sadly other decks do SO much better going first so.. we're in a tough spot. Either way, got to try to knock em out quick. Still follow the going first strat, but focusing on getting Tri Heart in position. A few things:
- Codebreaker can be a life saver, if you manage to get it set up under Tri Heart, you can get Knightmare Gryphon out. Just remember to summon directly below. It can also just be brought out to hit over Bagooska, but you have better options.
- Avaramax is a good secondary due to its targeting immunity.
- Remember that using Tri Heart's effect LOCKS you to Scareclaws. Use it last.
- Spider never came up. Figured I'd want another in for Avramax just in case I exhausted my Light Hearts. Could potentially bring in Chengying.
Good luck to those going to Round 2. I'mma just hang out here at the bottom. :) Thanks for checking this out!

3 replays on the climb. One was still running DPE package, but that card is just not cutting it with the shufflers in full swing.
