Notes & Combos

I tried the Souls Engine in the Dark/Light Event just to fill the deck and I was surprised how incredibly well it fit. I started with 1Souls and 1IoC because I wasn't that sure, but now I run 2 of each cause I want to see the Souls Engine every game. I think the deck is way better now ,even if it was very good anyway if played properly. Compared to last version I cut 3Ash cause I probably never negated maxx C ,so I add 1Evenly,1Imperm and 1IoC. The deck plays incresibly well under Maxx C(as you can see in the most recent replay I got Maxx C 3 times in 3 turns and only let my opponent draw 1(Cause i needed Souls effect to unlock the hand, otherwise he would have draw 0).

Magician Souls has a lot of benefits for the deck:

• It can send Gorgoneio to GY ,especially when you are blocked and have no plays;
• It can bait interruptions,considering the deck usually wins for resources advantage;
• It's a free body to make non-Evil Eye ED monsters or to end on Gorgon(rarely used in the previous version) instead of Serziel or Medusa on the field;
• You can make Relinquished Anima for free to bait further interruptions;
• You can send Pareidolia on the field(that does basically nothing) or Selene(in hand or even on the field before linking or use its effect) for a +1,when you send both it's a +2(bring back selene from GY banishing Pareidolia);
• You can discard a Evil Eye S/T to add it back with Medusa;
• You can discard in some useless cards in certain scenarios like Evenly or a dead Unleashed.

Goal endboard is still Serziel/Medusa(Gorgon if you open souls in hand) equipped with Selene and Cicada(if 2 familiars) or Ashura(if 3 familiars) with other interruptions depending on your hand like Fenrir/Defeat/Retribution and other HTs. Don't end on Evil eye and Machinex cause SuperPoly is still our worst enemy and it's still very popular. Mandatory ED monsters are Cicada, Ashura, D/D/Ds, Zeus,1 Gorgon and 1 Zerrziel(you can play one of them without Pot of Extravagance if you don't have further copies but 2 are better) . Unicorn and Accescode came up just once ,I will probably replace them, when I will find something more useful.If you enjoy Evil Eye like me I suggest you to try the Souls Engine.
