TL;DR - Aim is to get GEPD in grave and open/search Trance as quickly as possible so you can make Number 62 and OTK. Small World helps fix hands, board breakers break boards. If you can't make 62, make 90, 38 or another rank 8. If you can't make a rank 8, make a rank 4, swing, then make Zeus. If you can't make Zeus, sit on Bagooska. If you can't do that, cry about it.

In Xyz Festival, there is a multitude of really good strategies, from Zoodiac to Spright, Mathmech to Sharks, Lyrilusc to Exosister. This is not one of those good strategies. Not even close.

In ranked, the deck went from meh to bad once Union Carrier got banned, and in Xyz Festival especially, a lot of 2-card openers that were full combo do nothing now. So the name of the game is to turbo Number 62 with Afterglow under it, by getting Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon into GY and Galaxy Trance into hand, and swing for game. It's also possible to make 62 without Trance but this is the simplest way

Tech Cards Board breakers help clear opp's board for an easier OTK. Melody can help search GEPD/Afterglow to be discarded for Galaxy Soldier, or can discard GEPD for cost if you've already drawn it. Ghost Ogre is mainly a Small World bridge, but comes up in a lot of matchups (Exosister Kaspitell, Zoodiac Chakanine, Gigantic Spright etc).

Extra Deck The most important things in the extra are 62 and the rank 4s since they get GEPD into rotation, pretty much everything else is for if you can't OTK, or need additional help to break the opp's board; the Cipher monsters can steal an opp's monster, protect you from targeting and/or get you 2 pops, and it's still possible to OTK on top of that which is cool. There's also a cool interaction where you can summon Cipher X using only the stolem monster as material since its name becomes Cipher Dragon.

• Plan a) Make 62 and swing, ideally with Starliege Photon Blast Dragon as well to protect it from targeting/destruction
• Plan b) Make a different Galaxy-Eyes rank 8 for board presence if you're locked under Trance and can't OTK, likely Number 90 or 38 (or both if possible)
• Plan c) Make a non-Galaxy Xyz if you're not locked under Trance but can't OTK (Infinity, Felgrand, Dingirsu)
• Plan d) Crash with any Xyz, make Zeus and sit on it
• Plan e) Make Bagooska and sit on it
• Plan f) Your hand is terrible, scoop and go next
