Therion with an amalgamation of other gas.
Therion are pretty decent in these type of events and with the Roach being banned it seemed like a good event for a pile deck. Going first was preferred but going second wasn’t terrible since this deck has a lot of gas and draw power. Picked handtraps that would be good if I was stuck going second and wouldnt be bad going first (bar nibiru).
Ken+Gen to make Talents/Thrust live and a couple decent spells for targets as well as imperm. Bystials and Nibiru since I figured there would be a variety of decks that would either play light or dark monsters (not just the usual fire decks from ladder) and again with the roach being banned I saw a decent amount of combo decks. Toy Box Engine for extra bodies for links, targets for magicians soul and another layer of battle protection on top of the therion field spell. Tank was pretty nice since it could resummon Lonefire blossom to get the therion engine started. Apprentice felt like a fun tech since it pairs well with the danger cards and can dump Therion cards in the graveyard if need be. Added Voiburial as a search target for Apprentice ( also was useable as link material or a banish target for the bystials).
Extra deck Wasn’t really sure what to use, so I started by adding some good Rank 8s. Since the deck has a decent amount of level 3s Invoker got added since it was pretty easy to consistently summon. Ram Ram is your special summon target. I only have Drident, didnt want to waste space adding more Zoo cards and it’s effect is decent. Invoker was pretty much useless after it used its effect so the Lancer cards got added. The trap in particular synergized well with the therion cards. I:P and elf seemed like the best link 2 options and for the higher linked cards I just added ones that felt like they would have some utility.
The only card that I wish I had space for was called by, but by the point I had decided that, I had already collected all the gambling funds…gems from the event.
