PEND BEST DECK!

It took me about 50-60 games to reach M1.

This list is very simliar to my M5 list, but features 2 changes. 1 Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon replaces 1 Darkwurm, and 1 Poison Magician replaces Harmo Magician. These 2 changes look small, but far increased my going 2nd potential. I still lose a majority of games going 2nd, but before it was maybe 10%, and now hovers around 30%.

Despite a weak T2 gameplan, this deck truly shines when going first. The only handtrap you fear is Maxx C as you will often have hands that can play through 2-3 (3 is pushing it but still possible). My win rate going first never dropped below 90%. Since you basically put your opponent on "Have Maxx C or lose", you can afford to lose games going 2nd and still climb as long as you don't flips tails 10 times in a row.

Going 2nd is a shitstorm. Throw everything at your opponent and try to break the board. Cheesy OTKs are also possible. The deck has several going 2nd tools packed into the deck, try your best to see 1-2 of them. BTP, Ignister Prom, OERXD, Poison Magician, OERD are all "engine" ways to break boards.

Maxx C is the deck's biggest weakness, and you don't always open an answer. Usually I make Bagooska and pass, but if you can access Secret Village, Bagooska & Village can shut down a lot of decks despite drawing 4-5 cards.

Nov 9: Going 1st Maxx C challenge, I have TTT to force Nibiru but even if I didn't, Selene will SS 1 body and you can make Apollo.

This climb is not for the faint of heart. It took me over 150 games to make the climb, but I will note I got really unlucky for extended periods of time. I hit D2 3 seperate times before finally finishing the first half.

Star of the show: Selene! I cut Accesscode as no one is letting you get to Accesscode, so might as well play more cards that help you play through handtraps. We use Exceed to act as the Spellcaster for Village, and Selene lets you play Anti-Nib lines granted your hand allows for it.

Drag of the show: Bagooska. Card is so mid, doesn't stop anything and they will always have Imperm/Droplet and kill you anyway.

For my M1 climb, I'll be trying out 2 BTP as her search effect is not OPT. I ran into several hands where I lose to imperm but another BTP would be great to bait out interruptions.

This list is based on Hyorin's Master 1 decklist. Thanks for cooking that up, Hyorin!

The changes I made are because of preference.

2nd Wings of Light. I just like having 2.
Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing for Magician of Hope. I like having Clear Wing to help going 2nd and I rarely go for 2 pend summons. Clear Wing can sometimes be summoned on opponent's turn to monster wipe if you went 1st.
Crossout + Imperm for 2 Maxx C. The weirdest looking change and idk if it's correct. I did it after being Maxx C'd 6 games in a row. We go 1st more than before because of Tenpai and Maxx C in hand was often win-more if I managed to set up Secret Village. This list can take the Maxx C challenge going 1st but I'd still rather not.
The other reason is because Maxx C gets negated half the time going 2nd leaving Ash as the only other hand trap. However, Maxx C often trades for Ash so we're less likely to be Ashed Turn 2 so idk. Imperm gives me 1 more HT and a Crossout target to help going 1st.

Going 1st: Set up Secret Village with 1 Spellcaster on field and as much protection as you can.

Pendulum Evolution can get Astrograph. Electrumite or Beyond the Pendulum can then grab Majesty Pegasus. Try to bait Ash before using the hand fixing eff.
Lightwurm was clutch. Can be an extender and is also a Tuner. It doesn't restrict your other material the way Harmonizing Magician does. That can make it easier to summon Ignister Prominence to get Majesty.
Lightwurm can be used defensively if you end with Exceed the Pendulum + a lvl 4 DARK pend monster on field. Use Exceed to summon Lightwurm on opponent's turn, then quick Synchro into Clear Wing for a monster wipe.
I often take the Maxx C challenge going 1st. Try to get to Village no matter what lol.
Deck plays well through hand traps but you might have to freestyle a bit. Endboards can vary.
Saw Nibiru more than I expected so I still try to play around that.
I set Shrine/Foolish before activating to check for Maxx C but people either toggle off or click no really fast. I vaguely remember being able to feel the delay in the past. Or maybe I'm misremembering.

Going 2nd: Unfortunately, it's not as good going 2nd. Opening Village and/or Majesty feels bad. Gameplan is the same as always. Make ED monsters as needed, Clear Wing wipe, Ignister Prom non-target removal, Purple Poison.

Main goal is to set up Village with as much protection as possible. Plays through handtraps really well since you don't rely on your combo resolving perfectly every game.

PEVO was great for setting up protection on the first pend summon, to ensure my second pend summon is able to get Village online.

Village is basically a FTK right now going first, so play to that win-con and you should win enough games.

Ignister Prom is also great to act as an extender or break boards, so glad I could justify playing this incredible card again.

A silly thing you csn get away with, is playing into Maxx C. Setting up an early Apollo to stop nib, you can usually make it to Village pass and that can still auto-win games. Bagooska pass still serves as Plan B but if you ever get bored, give it a shot!

Deck could be trimmed down. I keep going between 40-45c. I prefer playing over 40 to not brick on non-engine and to have fewer hands that die to 1 handtrap.

Triple Tactics Talent was the MVP, especially going 2nd. Considering either staying at 2 copies & trimming the deck or adding a 3rd copy to see it more.

If I trim the deck, it might be something like this. Ogre replaces Droll and 2 TTT replaces Crossout and Imperm

Going 2nd:

Just open TTT bro. Jokes aside, some things I do.

I often make Beyond the Pendulum before Electrumite if I have 2 monsters on field before pend summon, especially if the opponent has removal or a negate.

You get the search if they only remove her
She remains on the field if they only negate her search (Ash) and can still use her destruction eff
If they Imperm, then at least it wasn't on Electrumite

VS Stun:

Goal is to get Poison with Wisdom/Joker/Stargraph + Time & Stargraph with Iris to destroy the floodgates and outgrind.
NS Joker + scaled Poison and attacking is often a 2 for 1.
Oafdragon's pend eff to retrieve Wisdom-Eye/Poison/Iris can be very useful.
Harmonizing's pend eff boosts Joker/Darkwurm to 1900+ ATK to attack Rai-Oh if you have 1+ magicians in your ED.

VS Centur-Ion and VV:

Blazar and ritual Sauravis make these matchups hard because they can negate Pendulum summons. Need to remove them or bait their negate before pend summon. I had a harder time vs VV.
TTT to take control of Blazar/Sauravis. Skull can negate.
Ogre Centur-ion monsters in the backrow, Radiance/Barrier vs VV
Foolish/Shrine Darkwurm, SS Darkwurm from GY, NS Lightwurm to make Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing to bait Phalanx/Blazar.
Bagooska with SS Darkwurm + NS non-Harmonizing lvl 4 if they don't have Phalanx/Radiance.
TY-PHON if only Blazar remains or if only Sauravis negate remains. Or if all else fails.
You can eat the pend summon negate if you can still get 2+ bodies on the field after. Iris and Poison on-destruction effs trigger negated and destroyed by Blazar.

Similar to my Duelist Cup list. Just added a 3rd Darkwurm and switched Supreme Dragon Clear Wing for TY-PHON.

Main Deck:

Triple Tactics Talent was great.
Ghost Ogre was OK. It sometimes made hands awkward because of too much non-engine. That led to me adding a 3rd Darkwurm. Might add a 2nd Purple Poison Magician too.

Extra Deck:

I normally use Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing but I switched it for TY-PHON after facing a Borrelend Dragon that I couldn't out. It didn't come up a 2nd time during the climb so you could just use Clear Wing.
Abyss Dweller and TY-PHON are usually flex spots for me. Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing, Spright Elf, Promethean Princess, Ignister Prominence, Selene are some other options.
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is a budget option for Odd-Eyes Rebellion XYZ Dragon.
